Awoke to a wet and cool morning & after packing the tent away, decided to try and ride into Albarracin, an attractive looking village we could see from the campsite.
Unfortunately they were'nt allowing any vehicles into the village centre and, as it was by now raining again, and we had a long ride ahead, we just rode as close as we could get, took a photo and left.
The roads out of that area were great for an hour or so, sweeping bends through a craggy landscape.
It was cold though, even accounting for the wet weather, so I checked the altitude in the satnav 1500m! - that explains that then, I had no idea we were so high.
It was not long after that I had a very scary dear moment - when one of two dear suddenly lept out of the surrounding undergrowth across the road, just inches in front of me - had the second one followed I almost certainly wouldnt be writing this now! Shook me up a bit, but on we went.
After we left the high country & good roads we headed for the first small town we saw, for some sustinence. A bacon butty & coffee at the Daytona cafe with a few locals weent down very nicely.
The rest of the day was a long push south, mainly down motorways or fast main roads - very straight, very windy, often wet & quite boring.
Eventually, after a small disagreement between Mr Garmin & Mr Google as to where the campsite actually was, we settled for the night just south of Cordoba. A nice site with good facilties, but terrible food.
Your post is providing some really good information. I liked its essence and enjoyed reading it. Keep sharing such important posts about this blog and its much more helpful for us .
