Well it rained overnight & was still raining in the morning, but the forecast looked ok so we were optimistic for a good climb over the mountains.
After quite a nice continental breakfast we set off up the road to the pass - but "non, the pass it is closed" - bugger!
No worries, we could use another pass, but this meant a long detour and would add another hour to the planned 6 hour run today.
The roads were good, but the weather never ally cleared and rain and cold winds spoilt what would otherwise have been a tremendous ride.
We were pretty cold bybthe time we got to the summitt and border, so stopped for a coffee on the french side, though they only seemed to speak Spanish for some reason.
On into Spain and the sun started to come out as we descended, it was still cold though with some ferocious cross winds.
We jumped on the motorway for a couple of hours to catch up some time.
and popped off for a brether break at what looked like an interesting village, but proved to be empty.
As we got closer to tye campsite and rode thorugh farming country, tye only buildings we could see all appeared to be falling down.
Finally arrived at the campsite and erected the tent in the hard baked earth.
It was still cold & so out came the Kelly kettle for a brew.
No wifi tonight so will post this when I can find some.
